We usually exhibit at two shows per month, mostly within the state of Florida. Check out CFA's show schedule and see if there's a show near you! http://www.cfainc.org/shows/show-schedule.html Cats compete in three different classes within CFA. The classes are Kitten, Championship and Premiership. The Kitten class is for cats between the ages of 4-7 months. The Championship class is for unaltered adult cats who are 8 months or older. The Premiership class is for altered adult cats who are 8 months or older. ""Bandy" is in the Championship class. All Championship and Premiership cats start their show career as an OPEN. This means that they are novices and are working towards the title of Champion or Premier. To earn these titles the cat must receive 6 Winner's Ribbons, which are red, white and blue striped. Once a cat has earned the title of Champion or Premier, he competes for his Grand title (either Grand Champion or Grand Premier). Bandy is currently working towards the title of Grand Champion. In order to achieve this title, he needs to earn 200 points. One point is earned for each Champion cat he defeats. His first show competing as a Champion was in Nashville, TN at the Music City Cat Fanciers show. He had a really good show and picked up 112 points towards his Grand title. He will be competing at the Space Coast Cat Fanciers show in Cocoa, FL on January 15-16, 2005 and we hope he is able to pick up more points there. Jordy is already a Grand Premier. In Premiership, the required number of cats to defeat is 75 rather than 200. This is because there are significantly less cats competing in this class than in the Championship class. Jordy was a one show Grand. A remarkable achievement for any cat. He had a break from showing for two seasons and he is back out competing this season in hopes of achieving a Regional win as one of the Southern Region's top 25 cats in Premiership. Cats earn points towards Regional or National wins by accumulating points based on the number of cats they defeat in competition. Jordy is currently within the top 10 within the Region and somewhere around number 36 in the nation. With continued luck (and hard work!), we hope to maintain or improve his standings throughout the remainder of the show season. Temple is the new baby we are bringing out at the end of January. She is also a seal lynx, like big brother Bandy. We think she'll be fun to show as she is both sweet and spirited.
